Great Oak senior Gabe Abbes won the boys 3,000 meters in a meet-record 8:40.46 and placed 13th in the 1,500 in 4:05.06 at the California Winter Outdoor Championships, helping the Wolfpack capture the overall team title. Abbes eclipsed the 2016 record of 8:42.12 held by former Great Oak standout Spencer Dodds.
